The Bishop McCarthy Residence offers very comfortable surroundings and a homelike environment that encourages residents to spend as much time outdoors. The staff recognizes each residences need for companionship, but they also understand the importance of privacy and time for quiet reflection.
The first floor dining room and gardens provide a beautiful setting for socializing with a family member or friend. A sense of pride in one’s appearance is fostered by the convenience of a full-time beauty salon, and residents thrive on the attention provided by an active and cheerful volunteer force.
A full and Stimulating Lifestyle
At Bishop McCarthy Residence each resident is encouraged to live full and independent a life as possible. The multi-talented recreation department provides a very important nucleus for daily life. Special planning goes into planning programs that will stimulate interest and create social interaction with volunteers, community groups, families and staff. From special outings to entertainment, we have determined that residents seem to derive more enjoyment from activities organized in smaller groups, and programs have been designed to reflect this.

The Bishop McCarthy Residence staff all work together to maximize an individual’s independent functions while encouraging the acceptance of limitations. A skilled team of medical, nursing, physical therapy and religious professionals will implement a plan that fulfills each resident’s individual requirements. Certified nursing assistants help strengthen bonds between residents and staff.
Extensive Staff
For those residents requiring a higher level of care, in-house rehabilitation programs, wound care and IV therapy are provided. Individual specialized programs for occupational, physical and speech therapy stimulate and enable residents to reach their highest level of independence and gain a sense of accomplishments.
Religious Observance
Faith and religious observance help to sustain and nourish many of our residents. Our beautiful new chapel with its brilliant stained glass windows is a source of comfort and pride. Bishop McCarthy Residence welcomes people of all faiths and offers Catholic Mass and the Rosary daily.
