Mission Statement

The Diocese of Camden is a particular manifestation of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church entrusted by the Pope to the care of the Bishop of Camden. The Church of Camden therefore shares the belief and mission of the worldwide Church and seeks to establish its effective presence in the South Jersey area. This local diocesan family recognizes its dependence upon God to accomplish the following aims.
• To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people and thereby to transform humanity in order to further the Kingdom of God.
• To render fitting honor to God and to offer growth in holiness to God’s People by liturgy worship, especially the Holy Eucharist, and through common prayer.
• To educate the People of God continually in their knowledge of the Faith
• To lead all to freedom and salvation in Jesus, the servant Christ and to eternal happiness in God by being the “Servant Christ” forming His people.
• To cultivate mutual esteem, reverence and harmony among all members of the Catholic Diocese so that this community will be a authentic sign of God’s presence.
• To foster unity of the entire human family, especially of all those who share one Lord, through respectful, honest dialogue and by common programs in the pursuit of peace, justice and truth.
• To promote the dignity of human life and the human rights for the glory of God and the good of His people.
