Title: Director of Campus Ministry

Camden Catholic High School, Cherry Hill
11 Month Position
Reports to the Principal

General Purpose:
The Director of Campus Ministry at Camden Catholic High School helps foster an environment
that guides all members to engage with all aspects of the Catholic identity of the school
community through prayer, service, retreats, faith formation, and fellowship. The Campus
Minister is a member of the school leadership team with responsibility for the development and
sustainability of programs and initiatives that provide an active ministry presence in all areas of
school life for students, faculty, and staff


Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic
  • Strong commitment to Catholic school education
  • Background in Theology or Religious Studies
  • Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed
  • Experience in Campus Ministry and/or Youth Ministry
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities:

  1. Worship and Prayer
    a. Oversees the planning of school liturgies and prayer services
    b. Works with the Director of Catholic Identity to plan for appropriate sacramental
    experiences during the year
    c. Ensures that the logistics of liturgy and sacramental events are prepared including
    setting up and arranging the spaces, choosing and training readers and altar servers, and
    securing an accurate number of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
  2. Retreat Planning
    a. In consultation with the Director of Catholic Identity, develops a plan for the year to
    provide retreat programs
    b. Works with the Director of Catholic Identity to prepare student retreat leaders
    c. Develops a schedule for planning for each retreat and arranges for all scheduling, event
    planning, location needs, and purchasing materials.
  3. Social Justice and Christian Service
    a. Works with the Pro-life club to ensure that there is a pro-life presence on campus
    maintaining school awareness through resources, events, posters, shared projects, etc.
    b. Develops an awareness of mission work and social outreach
    c. Manages the Christian Service Program by tracking all services hours and providing
    reflection opportunities
    d. Develops and plans school wide service activities
    e. Builds relationships with community organizations where our students may be of
    service
  4. Additional Job Functions
    a. Oversees the budget for Campus Ministry
    b. Prepares all correspondence for Campus Ministry activities
    c. Maintains relationships with local parishes and sending schools to provide students
    with opportunities available outside the school community in faith formation, service,
    and worship
    d. Maintains a presence at school events outside the Campus Ministry Office
    e. Attends diocesan meetings for campus ministry
    f. Engages with the Board of Trustees and committees of the Board of Trustees as
    directed by the President and Principal
    g. Responsible for teaching one section of Christian Ministry senior elective and one
    section of Religion
    h. Other duties as assigned by the school’s administration
