Department: VITALity Catholic Healthcare Services
Reports to: Vicar General
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the complete operations of all departments / ministries within VITALity Catholic
Healthcare Services. - Oversee, manage and support the Directors of each VITALity department/ ministry.
- Recruit and retain a diverse professional (RNs. Social Workers, Ordained Clergy) and nonprofessional workforce to ensure timely and effective delivery of services.
- Promote and market VITALity services to the Catholic faith community, to parishes and pastors,
and to the South Jersey community in general. - On an annual basis prepare operating budgets for all the departments within VITALity and
manage those budgets with fiscal integrity, being a good steward of Diocesan resources. - Present and justify those operating expenses to the Healthcare Foundation of the Diocese of
Camden Board for their approval to allocate funding for VITALity. - Develop and review quality indicators for Care Coordination and Call Center operations.
- Maintain and monitor statistical data on all applicable services within VITALity.
- Respond to Pastors’ and parish ministry leaders’ requests for assistance in relevant parish health related ministry planning and ongoing operations.
- Work with other Diocesan agencies to ensure the best outcomes in care for clients. (i.e. Catholic Charities, Low Income Senior Housing, etc.)
- Serve as a diocesan liaison to other non-profit community and governmental agencies who
provide health and wellness assistance to the elderly and disabled. - Work with all local South Jersey Health/ Hospital Systems’ Leadership to ensure the presence of
Catholic Chaplains is welcomed and supported within those institutions. - Serve as the oversight liaison to Catholic Chaplains employed by the State of NJ at Ancora State
Mental Health Hospital. - Present information about VITALity to Senior Groups, both parish and community based, to
keep them informed about services that could prove helpful to them. - Serve as the liaison to the South Jersey Guild of the Catholic Medical Association of the Diocese
of Camden, ensuring them of support and guidance in their work to promote Catholic Values in
medicine. - Assist the Vicar for Clergy in any issues related to the health and well-being of diocesan priests
and deacons. - Plan, promote, and participate in Liturgical Celebrations to acknowledge the spiritual dimension
of health and healing within the people served through VITALity. - Plan and conduct retreats for members of entrusted ministries to help enhance and maintain
their spiritual enthusiasm to serve. - Plan, promote, and participate in public events and activities that promote the dignity and
welfare of the elderly and disabled.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced degree (Masters or greater) in a health-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an executive leadership role within a healthcare agency.
- Be a practicing Catholic with a firm commitment to Gospel values, Catholic Social Teaching, and
Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives for Healthcare. - Possess a thorough knowledge of the Catholic Church institutional structure.
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of the health and well-being needs of elderly and
disabled persons. - Respect the dignity of each person in need of assistance.
- Ability to write and clearly express the views and mission of VITALity.
- Be adaptable to changing conditions and new and growing needs within the populations served.
