The Risen Lord removes all darkness

Dear sisters and brothers,

EASTER …  It’s not about the bunny. It’s about the Lamb!

Easter is about the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, whose Death on the Cross and Resurrection to life take away the sins of the world. Easter celebrates that He who died on the Cross rose to life. Death had no power over Him. Like a sacrificial lamb, He was led to slaughter on the Cross. However, it was not His end; He passed over death and returned to life. He is Risen. Now He lives. By His glorious Resurrection, He triumphed over death. He is the victorious Lamb of God. Easter is about the Lamb!

In the waters of Baptism, we passed over from sin to life with Him. By faith in Him, we can experience His saving presence. At Easter, we celebrate that we share in His victory of Resurrection.  Easter is about the Lamb of God, who was sacrificed on the Cross for us and who rose to life. It is also about our participation in the Death and Resurrection of Christ. He is Risen as He said!  And, we share in His Resurrection! This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad!

May you have a blessed Easter. The Risen Lord gifts us with hope, which touches our lives and removes all darkness. With a remembrance of you at Easter Mass and throughout the 50 days of this Easter Season, may the blessings of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ be with you, your families and loved ones. Remember, Easter is not about the bunny. It’s about the Lamb!

Happy Easter. Alleluia!
